"My Guardian Angel"
by: Josephine Castro, March, 7th 2010
The soothing voice that I heard for so long when I walk through the door,
I won't hear ever again,
The soft and gentle hands that caressed my fragile head as a child,
Until I was a hardheaded adolescent.
I reminisce when you told me stories of my childhood,
All the times my mother was a child and when you met the love of your life,
Amor.
No one can compare to your unending generosity and your loyalty,
Always misunderstood by all,
But completely comprehended by me.
Your Sincere smile I will miss greatly,
Your scent is forever with me,
Your words will never leave me and will accompany me in my times of darkness.
Your valor is my inspiration,
The nobilty of your heart is an example for all to follow,
The stricking honesty of your words and your rigid character is how I would like to be remembered.
You planted a beautiful seed that grew into a mighty tree and planted beautiful seeds of her own,
Whenever I see her I see a piece of you,
When I look in the mirror it is like you are smiling upon me,
No blessing can be greater than having her as a mother and you as a grandmother.
You have taught me so much through your wisdom filled words and through my mother's sweet voice,
That reminds a lot of your sweet side,
Even though so many were not lucky or worthy enough to see it.
The face I miss so much I will not see anymore,
The voice I long to hear will speak only in dreams,
The loved filled kisses and embraces that would keep me moving.
I know I am never truely alone,
I know somehow, someway,
You are always with me,
Within an arms reach,
Though I will never touch,
At least here.
I am proud to call you my grandmother,
My second mother,
My Guardian Angel sent from above.
